This high-speed cruiser can reach Desolation Sound from Seattle in less than 9 hours running time. Because of its fast speed, this boat gets much better fuel economy per mile than many slower gas-powered cruising boats. This boat is in pristine condition, is beautifully decorated and customized, and has been extensively equipped for cruising British Columbia with an open checkbook.
This lovely boat had always been very well maintained, and the current owner has just finished a complete $225,000 refit done over the past 9 years. It has been hauled out with new zincs & the bottom painted, hull & cabin professionally waxed, the engines tuned-up & fully serviced and the props are trued to Class I specs every Summer by the current owner. It has been stored in covered freshwater moorage since new. It sleeps up to 4 adults & 2 children on a convertible dinette, V-berth with filler cushion & custom pipe berth. We are confident that this is the nicest Formula 31SC anywhere in North America.
Formulas are one of the highest quality sport boats in the country, and this Formula 31SC was the top-of-the-line Express Cruiser from Formula in the early 1980s. The rugged, heavily built 18 degree deep-V hull is based on the Don Aronow offshore racing designs, and has a smooth ride along with excellent rough water characteristics. The twin 340hp Mercury 454 inboard engines with Borg-Warner transmissions and straight shafts provide a longer lasting and more reliable drive train than sterndrives. This lightly used boat has less than 890 original hours since new. Both engines were completely rebuilt in 2010 & 2011, and are in excellent running condition.
This boat came from the factory with every available option including folding aluminum radar arch, stainless steel railings, Marine Air 16,000 BTU Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning, 7.0 KW generator, Bennett trim tabs, Dayton 110 volt cabin heat, Bomar hatches, teak bow pulpit with Bruce style anchor & electric windlass, teak cockpit coaming, teak transom step with teak boarding ladder & swim ladder, extensive cabin & cockpit storage, delux cockpit seating for 10 people, full cabin & cockpit lighting, bow & stern night time docking lights, full galley with alcohol/electric stove, 110/12 volt under-counter Norcold refrigerator and Seaward commercial microwave, full head with wrap-around shower and deluxe exterior striping.
